Fleshwater es un «proyecto paralelo» de la banda de Metalcore/Hardcore Vein.fm. Para ser específicos, Fleshwater se compone por Anthony DiDio como guitarrista (vocal en Vein.fm), Matt Wood como baterista (en ambas bandas), Jeremy Martin como bajista (guitarrista en Vein.fm) y Marisa Shirar como cantante y guitarrista. Además, el miembro restante de Vein.fm, el bajista Jonathan Lhaubouet, suele tocar el bajo en los shows en vivo de Fleshwater.
Dejando de lado la curiosidad de la doble alineación y el hecho que ambas bandas difieren significativamente en el estilo musical, hay que decir que la propuesta de la banda es muy buena, consiguiendo una atmósfera de la música propia de fines de los ’90. En particular hacen una mezcla de Rock/Metal Alternativo con Shoegaze al estilo de Deftones o de Moodring que seguro a más de uno le cae perfecto.
